Still busy

I caught the female coming out of the house on my lunch hour today. Also, saw the male chasing away a small bird that was snooping around the birdhouse.

No Bluebirds today

If the Bluebirds were busy working on the nest today it was while I wasn't watching. I didn't see either one of them today.

I thought I would post a recent picture I took at Cherokee Lake one evening just as the lights were coming on. I liked the reflection of the lights in the water.

Not Much Going On Today

Not much happening with the Bluebirds today. I noticed the male at the nest box a few times today but did not see the female at all. Once they finish the nest and lay the eggs, there will be more photo opportunities.

I did catch this Red-bellied Woodpecker high up in a tree today while I was looking for the Bluebirds.

Bluebirds in my backyard

I have Bluebirds starting a nest in my backyard for the first time. I put a box up early last year hoping to attract Bluebirds but all I got was Chickadees. Today I noticed a pair of Bluebirds going in and out of my bird house . Here are a few pictures I managed to get of the very colorful male. It was too cold and windy to stay out any longer waiting on them to bring more nesting material to the box.

I'm looking forward to documenting their stay in my backyard so stay tuned for updates.
