Where's Zoey? She's playing hide-n-seek with me and thinks she is hiding behind a tree!

I guess we need to tell her she needs to find a larger tree to hide behind.

The female

I saw the Bluebirds visiting the nest box from my kitchen window today and got a few pictures through the window. I wanted to get some closer shots so I bundled up and took my camera outside for just a few minutes. It was too cold and windy to stay out there any longer. Both bluebirds are still visiting the nest box regularly but so are a couple of other birds. I caught a pair of tiny Brown-headed Nuthatches checking out the nest box today and at one time both intruders entered the nest box and disappeared down in it for a few minutes. I hope they don’t try to take over the nest and run the bluebirds off. The male bluebird still chases away any birds that get near the box so maybe he can keep the intruders away.

I'm not sure why the male was taking stuff out of the nest box today. He went into the box and when he came out he had some of the nest material in his mouth. He then flew off with it still in his mouth. I hope he's not moving.INTRUDERS! Brown-headed Nuthatches
